INDIGO CAFÉ, CAMBRIDGE

Sat 12th Oct 2019

The ghosts of

Cambridge walk

with the

words that can survive

the madness

of governing minds.

A

philosopher’s silence speaks

of eloquent

fears revealed.

The world is

real enough

when the

burning begins.

In the Indigo

Café we hear

there is serious

rumour

of summer

falling into darkness

as easily as

war declares

the

uncertainty of things

in the shadow

of the sun

eclipsed by

civil strife.

Voices passing by confirm

what is written in the air:

history has given its warning.

The book of redemption closes

when we are a whisper away

from the shattering of glass

and the breaking of bones.
