EU Financial Help For The UK's Super Rich

Fri 28th Mar 2014

As Mr Farage and his fellow Europhobes so rightly say; unelected, superlatively remunerated mandarins in Brussels dogmatically dictate some 70 per cent of British legislation. However, I feel that the UKIP leader and his partisans’ analysis of the effect of the UK’s membership of the EU overlooks a critically important political factor.

That’s to the say; the world is no longer ruled by so-called governments, elected or otherwise. In brutal fact, those who really determine how we plebs live are the International Bankers and their Multinational Business Conglomerate cohorts, and unless a way can be found to curb their unbounded avarices there’s scant hope for an imminent renascence of working and middle class prosperity, let alone for an improvement of the lot of the Third World’s desperately poor.

Nevertheless, the ultra wealthy are still doing very nicely. For according to a recent ‘Guardian’ report, Britain’s third richest individual, the Duke of Westminster –landlord of many prime properties in London’s Belgravia, Mayfair and in other parts of the UK– is worth some SEVEN THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED (7.8 BILLION) sterling.

What the ‘Guardian’ doesn’t mention is the fact that the good Duke’s burgeoning international agribusiness is not only handsomely subsidized by the UK Exchequer but by the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy payments, too. Of course, Westminster isn’t the only fabulously wealthy aristocrat to eagerly avail himself of such publicly funded largesse. Even some of our leading ‘social luminaries and establishment exemplars’ such as HM the Queen and Prince Charles are on the long list of the lucky beneficiaries of this utterly gratuitous EU magnanimity.

So now we have yet another barmy manifestation of bungling Brussels bureaucracy:

HARD UP TAXPAYERS IN BANKER-IMPOVERISHED COUNTRIES SUCH AS GREECE, IRELAND, SPAIN, PORTUGAL AND WHATNOT ARE HELPING TO FINANCE THE LAVISH LIFESTYLES OF BRITAIN’S “IDLE RICH”

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the typo. Devonshire’s wealth ought to have been quoted as : “SEVEN THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED MILLION (7.8 BILLION) sterling”, of course.

The video report shown at:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psVJW7UNsCw

was made by a local NGO based in one of Madrid's densely populated outer suburbs which are home to many members of the working and middle classes.

VERY IMPORTANT: in the video report the following vital fact is not made terribly clear –whereas, in Anglophone countries, a person who cannot keep-up with his mortgage payments, simply returns the property to the mortgage holder and FINANCIALLY that's an end to the matter, such is not the case in Spain. Here in this country, the mortgage loan is NOT cancelled on repossession of the property in question. In Spain, the borrower not only to loses his house but must repay ALL the outstanding debt, too –even if it should take him a lifetime!!!

Jim, in Madrid.
