Graffiti sprayed on a gravestone
– the cans litter the flower beds still.
Paint daubed across a shopfront,
so much so the glass shatters.
Green lines on a map make
a wall that cuts a town in two.
A sniper’s bullets trace an edge
along the shoulder blades.
Posters defaced with symbols,
flags stitched in factories,
yellow stars sewn into coats,
become Emojis, thumbed into phones,
while silent screens bare the hate
that seeps from your fingertips.
