And the dream reveals the city

stranger as the world wakes

in exception to the routine.

Obedience may be abandoned now

that the sunrise lasts all day.

Then there is news worth hearing

before midnights sounds the hour,

never before seen,

a promise on reflection kinder

than the silence we no longer hear.
