People no longer believe in the devil
nor good and evil
which is fine (and dandy)
but
we now take good as the natural outcome
of actions
that would have seen us hung in less tolerant ages
evil
is only for shady neighbours and shadier politicians
when we take a chance and look in the mirror
do we suspect
that the Age of Reason
was really one big lesson in introspection?
and what lies beneath tautology
is our own reflection?
